Ibama publishes Normative Instruction extending the deadline for submitting the RAPP until May 31, 2026.

On March 5, 2026, IBAMA Normative Instruction No. 6/2026 was published, extending the regular deadline for submitting the Annual Report of Potentially Polluting Activities and Users of Environmental Resources (RAPP) until May 31, 2026.

The measure aimed to address the potential impacts caused by the unavailability of the RAPP system for completing three forms: Annex X: Forestry Activities Form; Annex Y: Fisheries Resources Form; and Annex Z: Aquaculture Form, which are part of the new RAPP system under development.

Users registered in these activities were not affected by the system unavailability. However, the extension of the deadline covers all users required to submit the RAPP.

The RAPP is a legal requirement stipulated in the National Environmental Policy (Law No. 6,938/1981) and aims to assist in the control and monitoring of activities that impact or may impact the environment. Initially, the deadline for submitting the RAPP began on 01/02/2026 and would end on 31/03/2026. However, with the publication of the new Normative Instruction, the end of this deadline was extended by two more months.

We remind you that failure to comply with this obligation (RAPP) implies the application of a fine of R$ 1,000.00 (one thousand reais) to R$ 100,000.00 (one hundred thousand reais). In cases where the information presented is totally or partially false, misleading, or omitted, the fine applied ranges from R$ 1,500.00 (one thousand five hundred reais) to R$ 1,000,000.00 (one million reais). Furthermore, any individual or legal entity that fails to submit the RAPP within the specified deadline will also be prevented from obtaining the IBAMA Certificate of Regularity (CR).
