Our partner Bianca Oliveira Begossi represented the time Environmental, Regulatory and Biodiversity of Birth and Mourão Advogados at the 46th Meeting of the Conselho de Gestão do Patrimônio Genetico (CGEN), on 16/09.
💻 The highlight of the guideline was the approval of the Resolution regarding the new software SisGen 3.0. The transition and official availability will occur in the following stages:
1️⃣ Environment of Users and Migration of Data: the period of 60 days of environment of users (national and foreign) begins with SisGen 3.0. Dice inserted during this period will not be recorded in the dice bank. In parallel, the Secretaria-Executiva do CGen will initiate the migration of the current SisGen data (“Legacy SisGen”) for a new version.
The SisGen Legacy will remain in operation during this stage and will subsequently continue to be available to users as a data repository.
2️⃣ Conclusion of Migration: Once the migration is concluded, the Executive Secretary of CGEN will carry out the necessary verifications of the migrated system and data, promoting adjustments eventually identified throughout the process.
3️⃣ Publication of the Official Data of the Executive Secretariat of CGEN: after the migration and eventual adjustments, the Executive Secretariat of CGEN will publish the official data that formalizes the availability of SisGen 3.0.
⚠️ Attention to the deadlines: the publication of this constituted formal framework for the availability of SisGen 3.0 and the initial term for the contagem of the period of 1 (um) year for users to carry out the necessary adequações/regularizações, cadastros and notifications in the system.
🌍🧬 Along with SisGen 3.0, Patrick Luna (MRE) and Henry Novion (MMA) trouxeram update relevant information on DSI (Digital Sequence Information), including the position of Brazil and other countries, the preparations for COP-17, the international debates around the “by product” approach and the challenges and perspectives related to the implementation of Decision 16/2 and the allocation of contributions to the Cali Fund.
